We met through mutual friends and the rest is history!
Demitra, how did you know Lance was "The One"?
When I thought I was going to lose him to someone else. Sometimes it's the thought of loss that makes you realize just how special that person is to you.
Lance, how did you know Demitra was "The One"?
When I first laid eyes on her 8 years ago in the mall. I just knew it. She stuck out in my mind and I could picture her walking down the aisle towards me. You could say it really was love at first sight.
Tell us about the proposal.
Lance proposed in Old Town Alexandria in front of many family and friends. They were already there waiting on us with a huge sign saying "Will you Marry Me"!
What was wedding shopping like for you?
Stressful!!! But the best part was trying on the wedding dress!
What is the best advice you can give engaged couples?
Work together, communicate, love hard, do premarital counseling, and be honest about your feelings through the entire process.
Describe your wedding style.
The wedding dress was a champagne dress and the groom wore a classic tuxedo with a champagne bow tie. Our colors were lavender and blue and our decorations were a rustic theme that fit perfectly with the Crosskeys Vineyard setup.

Were there any special rituals?
We did a Love Letter Wine Box. We each wrote love letters for each other and the premise is that we lock them in a box with wine. If ever we feel that times are troubling, we open the box and read the letters to each other. On anniversaries, if we haven't had a need, we open the box, drink the wine and write new letters to each other with a fresh bottle!
What was your favorite moment from the wedding?
Demitra - Everything!!!!!!! The bridal party having a good time and partying together!
Lance - My wife's surprise dance for me.
Demitra, what were your gifts to your Bridesmaids?
Satin robes with their names monogrammed.
Lance, what were your gifts to your groomsmen?
Shot glasses with their names on them.
What was your favorite item off of the menu?
Demitra - The salmon.
Lance - Snickerdoodle wedding cake.
