Introduction:
Kiera and Lucious met during their time at Old Dominion University. In the early stages before they got together, they would always pick on each other and bicker like a bitter old couple. Lucious is a member of Phi Beta Sigma and Kiera is a member of Zeta Phi Beta. It was something that their closest friends picked up on and knew right away that what seemed like petty animosity was actually love brewing up. The two became a couple and continued to grown their bond well after college. Lucious joined the army which meant significant stints away from Kiera, but it only seemed to make their love grow stronger. Now with Kiera accepting a position in a new state, the couple begins their life together with all new surrounds and places to explore. Congratulations to this beautiful couple and many blessings to them and their family!
Details:
Kiera and Lucious decided on maroon and gray for their wedding colors and off-white for the bride's dress. The wedding decor had a rustic, outdoorsy feel--very fitting for this couple. The off-white roses for the bouquet and boutonnieres played very well as they were accented with deep maroon berries. The seating chart for the reception added to the rustic feel as the couple chose to use a cork board and surrounded the charts with halved-wine corks. Lucious absolutely loves himself some Batman! Their are subtle nods to the Caped Crusader all throughout the wedding.
Getting Ready:
The Inn at Vint Hill offers a great space for couples to get ready! All of the rooms provide ample window light and one of their rooms is actually used as a Presidential themed escape room. It made for a nice shot with the guys in between their haircuts and pool games. The ladies got ready in a space that consisted of two large rooms--one with a king bed. Though both groups were in 2 totally separate areas, they were literally across the hall from each other which made capturing them both a breeze as a photographer!
Ceremony:
Kiera and Lucious went with a traditional wedding ceremony and opted to perform the candle lighting ceremony to symbolize the coming together of two families.
Formals:
There was a little bit of rain during the day, but luckily The Inn at Vint Hill has a very quaint porch that was the perfect setting for some formal shots. Guests enjoyed the live music and cocktail hour inside of the Inn while the ceremony tent was flipped for the reception.
Reception:
The reception was a fun time! The couple definitely knows how to let loose. The couple danced through the night to the tunes of DJ Precise. Their wedding party and guests showered them with love. With both the bride and groom being a part of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity respectively, there were tons of exciting moments, dances, and songs!
